Our Narrative Marcom + Design story starts more than ten years ago with a few off-handed “what if” and “we should” comments about joining forces as a team. Following fast-track careers with global brands, we both reinvented our careers around motherhood working as consultants – Jacquie in graphic design and I in marketing communication. We were lucky enough to be working with clients who empowered us to “own” the creative process and sought out every opportunity to collaborate on projects.
Thanks to our back-story, we are a perfect fit for the work we do together. Rewind to nineteen-eighty something as freshman at the University of Oregon where we became fast friends and roommates. After we graduated, we moved to Portland, discovered the best view ever in a seedy John’s Landing apartment and set out on parallel careers. There’s nothing like being roommates to make or break a friendship. It has been the foundation of our 25+-year friendship and professional teamwork.
It’s amazing how magic happens when you genuinely love what you do, work with someone you completely trust and have no reservations about candid discussion. Our work together consistently exceeded our clients’ expectations and quickly grew into an impressive portfolio of collaborative projects. Timing – being at the right place at the right time – both personally and professionally – continued to be the one thing standing in the way of us officially joining forces. That was until the spring of 2012. FINALLY…”what if” and “we should” turned into let’s.” We launched our consultancy, Narrative Marcom + Design, and it’s been fast-forward ever since.
